April 2023 | International Earth Day: Sustainable Development in Peru.

Celebrating International Earth Day, we have added this special evening event to our Sustainability Community of Action Series on Sustainability, Systems Thinking and Solutions.  Katie Wood and other members of the team will lead a session talking about Sustainable Development in Peru, with a focus on work with the Peru Authority for Reconstruction with Changes (ARCC) to apply international best practice to the reconstruction of resilient and sustainable facilities and infrastructure, including 74 schools, 18 healthcare facilities and comprehensive flood defences for 17 river basins and 7 cities along the coastal regions of Peru.

João supports cities, regions and countries to answer climate change challenges and deliver complex infrastructures and major events by providing them with expert technical advice, from design, planning and operation, to providing a fully integrated, multi/sector approach.

Alex is an internationally trained architect (UK and Spain) and fluent in 4 languages.  He is experienced at coordinating large, complex multi-disciplinary projects across several sectors.  He is passionate about socially and environmentally responsible architecture.  

Liani is a planner specialized in strategic transport, active travel, urban design, and inclusive development. She has experience in the international dissemination of knowledge and best-practices, research, and the provision of strategic advice for private and public sector clients. 

Having started his career as a seismic engineer, Jorge moved into international development projects, applying his technical, communication and management skills to implement sustainable projects in a wide range of challenging settings.

Claudio is an experienced healthcare architect, having worked on a wide variety of new build and refurbished UK healthcare facilities before moving to Peru.  He has been providing technical assurance to 18 hospitals and healthcare centres in the Peru Reconstruction Programme for the last 2.5 years.
