Webinar Description

Join us for a panel discussion about the role of projects within the Economy and Finance System.

To achieve the UN SDGs, and to address the Climate, Biodiversity and Pollution crises, billions of dollars of international investment is needed.  But every year, trillions of dollars circulate in the markets.  We know we need new technologies and new projects, but the money needs to come from somewhere. What's our role in this?

And to achieve the UN SDGs, and to address the Climate, Biodiversity and Pollution crises, we are also going to need to make new and different choices against a backdrop of scarcity. This is the essence of economics. What can we learn from the study of the choices individuals, organisations and nations make, and how can we apply this to projects?

We're going to be talking about:

How does project management link to the Economy and Finance System?

What are the flows between the Economy and Finance System and project delivery?

How do these flows interplay with Sustainable Development?

In some cases, is the lack of awareness of the Economy and Finance System in the project management community holding back Sustainable Development?

How has the prevailing Economy and Finance system created progress and opportunities?

How has the prevailing Economy and Finance system damaged people and the planet? What are some of the ways projects could change this?

From privatisation to pricing, and from social value to sustainable subsidies - to what extent do we need project managers to be engaged with the Economy and Finance System, and to what extent can we leave it to the experts?

Let's talk about it!
