Webinar Description

The subjects Parmjit Kaur will cover include how she used Project Management to manage a challenging series of health events in her personal life, and how those project management skills eventually led to healing.

The learning outcomes of the session include, but are not limited to, how to:

  1. Solicit project team members/stakeholders to contribute to a risk register/risk inventory.
  2. Communicate effectively using active listening, trust, collaboration, and more, focusing on interactive communication. We will also touch on differences in generational communication styles.
  3. Recognise when a project is at risk of failing to meet its goals and objectives… and changing course
  4. Use technology/tools to “project manage” your life!

This will be a fun and interactive session in which attendees will be asked to consider how they got into project management, and we will take some time to break out into groups in which each group/team will be challenged to consider an event in their personal lives which they project managed.

My name is Parmjit (Pam) Kaur, PMP, CSM, and although I’m born in the U.K., life brought me to the USA as a young girl. Currently, I am proud to serve PMI Southern Nevada’s Chapter, based in Las Vegas, as their Executive Vice President as well as serve in the capacity of a Senior Technical Project Manager for a Fortune 500 company. I’ve been a Project Manager in various industries including healthcare, finance, and digital marketing, employing and following PMI’s project management framework. In addition to project management as a profession, I have had the great honor of presenting at various events, including as a guest speaker and panel member at: 1) The PA eHealth Initiative’s Conference: Crossing the Infrastructure & HITECH Meaningful Divide 2) TUMHAA Annual Conference: Putting Healthcare Information to Work for Providers, Patients, and Payers 3) NJ-HITEC MUVers Celebration 4) PMI-SNC May Chapter Event And soon to be a panelist at Health 2.0’s conference slated to take place in July! The wonderful feedback I’ve received from audience members is that my presentation style is interactive, unique, engaging, and yet compelling, as I often share how I have incorporated project management principles in both professional as well as personal settings… and how others can, too! I would love the opportunity to engage your membership as well and take them on an exciting Project Management journey of risks, discoveries, stakeholder management, lessons learned, and more! Some sentences you can consider using to grab the attention of potential participants include: ‘Joining us all the way from Las Vegas, NV, speaker Parmjit (Pam) Kaur, PMP, CSM, will share an insightful and unique presentation focused on using tried and tested Project Management principles to manage every day events!’ ‘PMI Southern Nevada Chapter’s Executive Vice President, Parmjit (Pam) Kaur, joins us from Las Vegas to share a compelling tale centered around employing the PM framework to manage everyday life challenges and increase the chances of successful project closing! ‘Las Vegas’ Parmjit (Pam) Kaur, PMP, CSM and Executive VP at PMI Southern Nevada Chapter joins us to take us through an interactive presentation, challenging us to consider the varied projects we’ve been managing all our lives!
