The UN Environment Programme

The first UNEP synthesis report is titled: “Making Peace With Nature: A scientific blueprint to tackle the climate, biodiversity and pollution emergencies” and is based on evidence from global environmental assessments.

 

The UK's Response

The UK government has legislated to cut greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2050. This target represents the UK’s obligations under the Paris agreement, and response to the urgent need for action h

The Global Picture

The Paris agreement, adopted in 2015, aims to strengthen the global response to the threat of climate change by keeping a global temperature rise below 2° C. Alongside this, the UN sustainable development goals (SDG 13) focuses on climate action.
